Big Wheels

The Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Western Illinois University has held an annual big wheel race for charity since 1975. Big Wheels can bring up to 1,500 spectators.

Big Wheels is always held in the fall semester, and in 2008 was sponsored by Larry A’s Pizza; however in 2009 Farm King of Macomb choose to sponsor Delta Tau Delta’s largest philanthropy.

Race will run down W. Murray St.
* Coin Wars 1 – 5pm

Pie a Delt for $1.00 or 4 Delts for $5.00

Pie a friend for $2.00

And other fun events!!

**Bags events will be set up for entertainment throughout the day as well.**

Trophies will be presented immediately after races have concluded.

**Remember ALL money will go to benefit the Movember Foundation and the children at Lincoln Elementary in Macomb**

-Double Elimination

Cost:

$30.00 for one, $50.00 for two, $70.00 for three teams, $15.00 for each team over three.
All money must be turned in, or your team will not be allowed to race.
T-shirt money is due October 2^nd
Money for your team can be turn in the day of the race

Rules

Double Elimination, every team will race at least twice.
Your Big Wheel Beauty must participate on your team.
The Referees have the final say.
No Flip Flops if you are riding the Big Wheel!!

**To prevent injury. We ask that your riders use their feet to stop the Big Wheel after crossing the finish line**

About Delta Tau Delta

Delta Tau Delta was founded in 1858 at Bethany College in present day West Virginia. Eight men, angered by a fixed vote for a prize in oratory to be given at the Neotrophian Literary Society (a forum for students to practice and demonstrate skills in poetry, public speaking and writing essays), responded by forming a secret society. The purpose of the new society, known only by the Greek letters Delta Tau Delta, was to see the Neotrophian Society returned to popular control from the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, and to form an organization of the student body drawn together by common aims, brotherly regard and desire for mutual support. Delta Tau Delta was born of the knowledge that integrity is essential. The founding principles of Truth, Courage, Faith and Power have provided a guide for both the Fraternity and its membership. Since 1858 the Fraternity has spread to nearly 200 campuses with over 120 active chapters and colonies comprised of about 6,500 undergraduate members. For over 150 years, Delta Tau Delta has in excess of 150,000 men who have become members of the Fraternity.
